Overview
Himachal Pradesh is a state that is known for its natural beauty and trekking trails. The Hampta Pass Trek is one of the best treks in India and offers an incredible experience for trekkers. The Hampta Pass trek is situated at 14,000 ft, presenting a rare yet spectacular crossing in the Himalayan range.
The ascent to Hampta Pass is not very steep and the terrain is quite flat throughout. The trail has a combined distance of 35 km, making it feasible for novice hikers as well as those with extensive hiking experience. This walk must be completed over the course of five days. After you have over the mountain, you will enter the Spiti Valley, which is famous for its arid and desolate environment, as well as the clear blue sky that surrounds it.
On one side, you can view the lush green Kullu Valley, full of forests, grasslands and blooming flowers on the trail path. The other side features Lahaul’s stark and nearly arid scenery due to the bare mountains and scant vegetation. When you get onto the most stunning views of the Himalayas surrounded by towering peaks, lush green forests, meadows and waterfalls, the trek would be a rather worthwhile adventure for your trip in Himachal Pradesh.
The Hampta Pass Trek is an easy to moderately challenging journey that can be completed in five days, reaching the maximum height of 14000 ft. It is located in the Pir Panjal ranges of the Himalayas. The first high-altitude campsite on the journey is Chika, which is tucked away at an elevation of 10,000 ft. However, because it’s only about 2 km from Jobra, it doesn’t strain your stamina as much.
It is said that the Hampta Pass hike is the greatest summer hike in all of Himachal Pradesh. It has a striking resemblance to the Valley of Flowers Trek in many respects. It provides a stunning contrast of the many different Himalayan landscapes. On the side that faces Kullu, its scenery is characterised by lush meadows, woodlands, and flower bloom; on the side that faces Lahaul, its landscape is characterised by roughness and aridity. You will get the opportunity to see the beautiful Chandratal Lake while you are out on the trip.
You can witness a wide range of flora and fauna and rare opportunities for the beautiful encounter of species like the Himalayan Monal and musk deer. Due to the varied topography in the region, the path is extremely rich in water sources, and the trail is dotted with pine, green maple trees and birch trees. You would go along the stream of Rani Nallah river to Balu Ka Ghera, then enjoy the panoramic view of the snow-clad mountains of Siagoru before trekking to Chatru. Finally, end your journey at Manali, bringing home sweet memories. Visit other beautiful holiday destination like Stok Kangri Trek, Mayali Pass Trek, and many more.
