Kheerganga Trek, which can be found in Himachal Pradesh, is widely considered to be one of the most popular places for trekkers who are searching for treks of a moderate difficulty level. Kasol is the starting point for the Kheerganga Trek. The picturesque town of Kasol can be found in the Indian state of Himachal Pradesh. It is located in the Parvati valley, on the banks of the unspoiled Parvati River, and lies in the middle between Bhuntar and Manikaran. During the warmer months, the town of Kasol, which serves as a starting point for a variety of increasingly well-known hikes, may become quite busy. Kasol serves as the starting point for a variety of well-known hikes in the state of Himachal Pradesh, including journeys to Tosh, Chalal, and Kheerganga.
The Kheerganga trek starts in Kasol and is a very short and simple hike that even novice hikers may complete. The Kheerganga walk is twenty-four km long, and the terrain never veers away from a gradual ascent or descent during the whole journey. The Kheerganga Trek is considered a day trek since it can be completed in a single day. The Kheer-colored river that runs through Kheerganga is the town’s claim to fame as a tourist destination in its own right. Kheerganga is well-known for its hot water springs and its breathtaking panorama of the Parvati valley and the Himalayan mountains.
Mythologies of Kheerganga Trek:-
Kheerganga is where Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati’s son Kartikeya are said to have meditated, according to one of the local legends. Kheerganga got its name from the fact that Goddess Parvati made a dessert called “kheer” for her son in the region’s hot water springs.
The second mythology is that kheer materialised out of thin air at the time when Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati were travelling through this area. This kheer ended up being turned into water by Parvati Ji. Because of this, the water appears milky and has a bluish-gray colour to it
